Tax Policy

Application of VAT or sales (use) tax will be added to your purchase as Kluwer Law International conducts business worldwide. We are required to apply the appropriate Value Added Tax (VAT) to orders fulfilled from our distribution centre in the United Kingdom (Wolters Kluwer/Air Business). Orders fulfilled from the Aspen Publishers Inc. distribution centre in the United States are subject to the appropriate sales (use) tax rules. Any applicable tax is clearly itemized on your invoice.

Customer tax status

If you are a customer in Europe and qualify for Value Added Tax (VAT) reversed-charge status, please mail or fax your VAT registration number to our distribution centre for customers outside the United States Wolters Kluwer/Air Business.

If you are a customer in the United States and you qualify for sales (use) tax-exempt status, please mail or fax a copy of your Tax Exemption Certificate, Direct Pay Permit, or Resale Certificate to our distribution centre for customers in the United States Aspen Publishers Inc.

Please include your Kluwer Law International customer number, name, and phone number in your correspondence to us and provide us with the required information if you claim reversed-charge status (Europe) or sales (use) tax-exempt status (United States). If we do not receive the required information, your order will be processed as if you do not qualify for either reversed-charge status or sales (use) tax-exempt status.
